The Old Town School of Folk Music has released the main stage lineup for its 13th Annual Chicago Folk & Roots Festival, which will be taking place July 10th and 11th up in Welles Park (Lincoln & Montrose). The festival always features an eclectic lineup, and this year is no exception. Performers on the main stage this year include Hoyle Brothers, Occidental Brothers Dance Band International, Budos Band, Sanctified Grumblers, and Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo. (The full line up is behind the jump.)
In addition to the main stage, there are stages featuring music by the wildly talented staff of the Old Town School of Folk Music, as well as shows from student ensembles. There’s also a kid’s tent, with dance classes, rhythm circles, and a little something called “Rockabilly for Kids” — I think I’ve got to see that. Dance classes for adults will also be conducted throughout the weekend, with styles including traditional African, Tango, Bollywood, Folk, and Hip-Hop.Â
