Recently, Regina Spektor released a very beautiful, yet minimalist, cover of Radiohead’s “No Surprises”, with all proceeds from its sale on iTunes to go to Doctors Without Borders. Apparently, Radiohead is donating their share of the royalties for the song’s use, as well. The below video clip is from an appearance on Triple J; there’s a brief interview at the beginning, so skip to about the two minute mark if you just want to get straight to the song. I’m not one for paying $1.29 for a song, but it’s worth it when it’s for a good cause.
Regina Spektor, “No Surprises”
A heart that’s full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you
Bruises that won’t heal
You look so tired, unhappy
Bring down the government
They don’t, they don’t speak for us
I’ll take the quiet life
A handshake of carbon monoxide
