Summer may be winding down, but festival season isn’t quite over yet. Â The AV Club presents AV Fest, taking place at the Hideout, on September 10th and 11th. Â You can see acts including Hum, The Thermals, and Like Pioneers on Saturday; Sunday includes Archers of Loaf, Tokyo Police Club, and Maps & Atlases. Â Entry is a $10 suggested donation, with a portion of the proceeds going to Rock for Kids.
The Chicago Fringe Fest enters its second year, taking place in Pilsen. Â The fest runs through the 11th and is mainly theatre focused; however, my band, Jungle of Cities, will be performing a short set on the 11th at Meridian Stage, located at 1932 S. Halsted. Â No word yet on what time we’ll be going on, but I’ll update this post when I find out.
