Looks like the music scene is still recovering from NYE celebrations, too.
I’ll be seeing Charlotte Martin on Sunday. I missed her the last time she was in town, so I’m glad to be able to finally see her live.

Happy Monday, all! I had great plans for getting some album reviews written up over the weekend, but instead I spent my time feeling miserable and sick and sleeping on the couch while watching Dirty Jobs reruns. What a life. It’s a pretty low-key week for music here. If you’ve got the time on Sunday, […]

A bit of a late post today; not going in to work has made my day all sorts of screwy. Â This week has a lot of good local shows, with the Gapers Block sponsored show at Metro on Friday, and then the CD release party for The Felix Culpa on Saturday. Â I’m thinking of checking […]

The beginning half of this week has apparently decided to take a vacation. I’d sure like to do the same, but that’s not going to be happening any time soon. The big attraction this week is the Tomorrow Never Knows festival, hosted at Schubas and Lincoln Hall. There are a lot of great bands performing, […]

“This Week in Great Music” might as well just be renamed “This Week in Chicago Residencies That I Couldn’t Get Tickets To”, with series of shows by Butch Walker and Lady Gaga both selling out before I could even get around to clicking the purchase button. (Bet you never thought you’d see those two names in a […]
