As always, you can hear my delightful music selections every Friday night on Chicago’s own CHIRP Radio, from 8 – 10 pm Central time. 9:54 […]

Here are some songs I played on the radio on Saturday afternoon. I’m back in my regular time spot on Friday night on Chicago’s own CHIRP Radio, albeit with an extra long turn at the controls — join me for my regular 8-10 pm show, stay for the bonus tracks from 10 pm to midnight. […]

We are getting back in the swing of things here with the weekly calendar. Â It’s the beginning of the year, cut me some slack. We’ve got some great local artists on bills this week, plus some very diverse acts coming in as part of the Tomorrow Never Knows festival, spread out at Schubas, Lincoln Hall, […]

Apparently in addition to last week being Andrew Bird week, last week was also “Sarah’s Too Busy to Blog” week. No worries, friends, I have a review of the (thoroughly amazing) Hideout Block Party coming up. Let’s just pretend that last week didn’t happen, otherwise. This week is full of shows I want to go […]

This is basically the worst week in the world for concerts. And by worst, I mean full of too many choices. I’ll be at the Brandi Carlile show at SPACE on Wednesday, and at DeVotchKa at Lincoln Hall on Saturday. The rest of the week is up in the air. I’ll probably be sobbing under my desk rather than making any real decisions.

I am having a love/hate relationship with this year’s Lollapalooza schedule. It’s not like last year, where I was able to fill every inch of my day with bands. But maybe that’s a good thing — more time for aimlessly wandering from stage to stage, more opportunities to discover something new. Here’s where you’re most likely to find me this year:
